Entering samples, Demos, etc.

How do all of you enter samples, demos, etc., in the sales order screen? Do you type each one separately since they are not in the brochure? I am sitting here entering and it is taking forever. Any input would be great!

I always enter the demos and samples in a separate order. I just named it Sales Tools and Demos. And I enter each one and where the little T is you put in Sales aide or demo. Yeah you do have to enter them manually. Once in a while it will do it for you if the item is in the product brochure. As tedious and tiresome as it is, it really gives an accurate summary of your business expenses. Hope this helps!

Thank you for answering my question so quickly. I do like the idea of making a sales order just for this purpose.

Most demos are in the product brochure download.
You can create a brochure called "sales tools" by selecting File> create new brochure> "create empty brochure" and enter each product, description and price. Then simply copy that brochure to each campaign when you download the next brochure.

You learn something new each day!
Thans for that tip LJ4AVON . . . I'm always entering sales aids manually each time I need to order them. It makes sense to list them in their own brochure!

I'm so lost. Having troubles getting up and going on lots of levels. My first question of many (LOL) is how do I do this? When I follow the above directions, it won't let me name the brochure "sales tools." It always defaults back to the current campaign (which is 3 because I want to go back and enter everything from when I started Avon).
I'm using the new version, 2.09, just downloaded and installed it. I go to File, create new brochure, and a little box pops up that says "For campaign:" and next to it is a box which by default says 2008-04. I try to delete that out and type in Sales Tools, but the box is too short to fit, so I try STAD for sales tools and demos and choose the "Create Empty Brochure" radio button. I hit OK, and another tiny little box pops up that only says "200804" because the STAD has defaulted back, and I hit ok on that tiny little box, as it is the only option.
Is this making any sense? Hopefully someone is around to help me out before I get another question posted lol.
Thanks so much!!

If you are in USA most Demos are included in Brochure, to see them by type click on "Page" column Title to sort by page number. In the USA Demos are in "Whatsnew" so the page numbers will start with "WN". You can enter "WN " in Search and press Tab key, you will then jump down to first Whatsnew item.
You can use this for Mark (starts with MRK), Mens catalog (starts with MEN), Beauty on a Budget (starts with BOB), Outlet (starts with OUT).
Hope this helps.

That makes perfect sense, thanks! It would still be nice to be able to create the empty brochure for things such as brochures, samples, flyers, etc. Is it no longer possible to create your own?
Thanks,
Natalie

Natalie,
You can add items to Current Brochure, then copy them to next one (so you don't have to retype them). To do this give them a unique Page then use main menu File -> Copy Products to Brochure... to copy the whole batch (of items with a specific Page Number, see "Page Number Starts With" option on batch Copy window).
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Stan

My task after church this morning will be to enter all the sample as Stan as suggested.
The $64 question is - How do we know when new Samples or Business Tools are added without going to Avon's web site painstakenly looking at each and every one?
Regards...

My response to that would be just add them as you need them. For example if you enter Business Tool product number (say large bag) and MBA pops up the "product not found would you like to add" just add it there (at this point you know its a Business Tool so give a Page Number like "BT"). Now you can copy this along with other Business Tools to next campaign later (all items start with "BT"). So basically your are just adding items that you need (save some time and don't bother with items you don't use/need until you want them).
Hope this helps
Cheers,
Stan
