Print colors not saved
«
on:
August 14, 2008, 12:31:48 AM »
Stan,
When I change the print colors for backorder and previous backorders, they are reset when I exit the program. The returns color is saved.
Tina
PS I just uploaded 2.09, but had this problem in 2.08 also

Tina,
I just tried it here with version 2.09 and seems to work ok. I set Backorders to Red and Previous to Green (for both Window and Invoice colors) and they displayed/printed properly. Exited and restarted MBA and went into Sales Orders and they displayed properly.
The only thing I can think of is your may have clicked "Save" on colors window but clicked "Cancel" on Setup window (instead of "OK").
If it displays color in Window and Preview but not on printed Invoice check that your Printer driver does not have "Print in Black" or "Black Only" checked (color turned off).
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Stan

Stan,
It's still now working for me. I changed returns to brown and previous back orders to blue. If I exit and restart MBA, returns are brown, but previos back orders are back to red.

Does it do it for both Order Window and Printed Invoice?

Tried it here again with both 2.08 and 2.09 and both worked fine (colors were saved, even after shutting down and restarting)??
Has anyone else got this issue with color settings for "Previous Back Orders" changing?
Cheers,
Stan

Stan:
I have had the same problem with previous versions as well as the current 2.09.
It doesn't bother me because half the time I do not put in the shorts into MBA and when I print out invoices they are printed as they are entered initially and not again when the shorts are actually recorded.
There is a problem what this part of the program and I don't understand why it works for you but it does not work on our computers.

Ok, tried it again. This time on Vista (last times were on XP Home and XP Pro). Works like it is suppose to and saves colors, even after shutdown and restart. I looked at Source Code, seems right on. Thought maybe it was Invoices with 2 per Page but works with both 1 and 2 per Page in my tests. Check with editor and color fields are saved properly to file each time. Tried it with custom colors, they work too.
Do any Reps have the same result as me where it just works as expected? Trying to figure out what is different between me and Tina & Doris.
Cheers,
Stan

I just tried it again. It saved it when I was in the program, but when I exited the program and went back in, the changes that I made were not there.
Also, I am using 2.09 with Windows XP Home Edition SP 2.
This is something that I really don't care about, but it would be nice if it worked like it was intended to work.

I am using newest MBA version with Windows Vista and the colors save for me and work fine. Have always worked for me. Using any program from Windows 95 all the way up to Windows Vista and any version of MBA. Love this program and love the support that is always there. Keep up the good work Stan

I'm running 2.08a still and have never had a problem with the different colors--I use 3 or 4 different ones besides black. No problems in long or short invoicing. No problems with shortages displaying as expected. Running Vista OS.

I have the same problem.
I go to setup > sales orders > order/invoice text colors and change the colors. I then click on save the ok on the setup window.
If I go back in to setup and check the colors, it is fine.
If I exit MBA then open it again and check the colors, they have reverted back to the defaults.
I had a similar problem with a different piece of software at work and it turned out that the file that stored the colors was the problem. Once the file was deleted and recreated the problem was fixed. Could this fix this problem?
I am running Windows XP SP3 and MBA 2.09b (Australia)

The colors are stored in the system file (where your name/address/sales tax rates/etc. are saved) so deleting it won't help. Try changing something like your address or phone number along with the colors, save an exit MBA. Then restart MBA and see if the other changes (address or phone) are lost as well. Let me know.

Stan,
Changed the colors and address, exited MBA then opened MBA again. Address was saved but colors were not. Very strange.
I noticed this a while ago, I think back in 2.07, but thought it was just me. When I saw the post I saw that I was not alone.
I am not overly concerned and can live with this until version 3 comes along.
