Several Reps have had their PC crash over the last few days (hard drive failures, etc.). This reminder is that MBA has a Backup function built in (see main menu File->Backup). Also please remember to Backup to an external device (like a CD, USB drive or another computer on your home network) because if you have a Backup file on your hard drive and it fails you have lost your Backup too!

Backups are easy and fast to do. Remember it is not IF your PC will have a crash, it is WHEN. Your PC is a machine and it will break at some point. You have spent a lot of time entering all that valuable data, your really don't want to do it again when it is totally unnecessary.

Also see the FAQs on this website for more info on recovering from a crash.

Cheers,
Stan

Hi Stan, I have been doing my backup everytime i enter information into the program, and tonight when I clicked on backup, nothing came up, my backup device was in and there is no lock on it, not sure what is going on.. any idea's would be very helpful.

also a suggestion, when we close out of the program maybe a pop up screen comes up asking us if we want to back up.. is this possible

thanx

I think your Avon.ini file is damaged/corrupted.  With MBA NOT running, go into your MBA folder (normally this is C:\MBA ) and delete your avon.ini file.  Then start MBA, it will create a new default avon.ini and you should now see the Backup Window.  Let me know how it works out.

Stan

I have been completing a back up after each campaign. I just save it to my computer and then email it to myself to store on my email server (Gmail)

Hope this info helps others that do not have a physical backup drive.

Emailing is a good idea as you get it off your PC, yet its easy to get if you need it.  So many Backup to their Hard drive only and then if they have a drive failure they loose both their data and their backup.

Stan
